B is Boston. One of the cities we visited we we went on trip back east over the summer. Lots to see and lots to do that we need to plan another vacation there. The roads are crazy though...sort of like they thought a spider web would make a great road system.
C is for conference. I cannot believe that Garrett is old enough to go on a mission now!
D is for driving. The kids and I noticed that the van needed only 14 more miles until it turned 100000 miles. So we did what most people do (not sure that most people would do this) we drove around the city. Once we got closer to our house we made sure our cameras and videos were ready on our phones to capture the eventful moment....Okay, not really that eventful.
E is for elevator. I know this is a weird thing to put on here. But there are just some mornings that hiking from the basement to the third floor just does not sound like a fun thing to do. Just so you know, that is 52 stairs carrying a way heavy backpack...Seriously, it has to weigh at least 20 pound...no joke! What am I carrying in a backpack that causes it to weigh so much you ask? My laptop, my books for my classes, and a 2 inch binder (it could be a 10 inch binder..not sure? :) ) that is FULL of papers and even more papers!!!
F is for forty. Not that I turned that age this past September ;). I do have a great husband and great friends that helped plan a wonderful surprise party for me.
G is for graduation. Garrett graduated in July! This makes me feel old!
H is for Hurricane Deck. When we went to New York, we went to Niagara Falls and took a tour that puts you low, new the falls. When you buy your tickets they give you sandals (that you get to keep) and a rain poncho for very obvious reasons...you get DRENCHED!!! If we had been there a few days later when they were experiencing a heat wave, this would have been the place to be! It is cool, the wind that is generated by the power of the water naturally cools you off.
I is for Ikea. I love this store. I went there a few weeks ago and purchased some curtains for the family room. I could live in this store...sort of like the commercial. That gives me an idea, that is where the TullHoopensen's compound will be :)
J is for junk mail. I hate junk mail! It piles and piles up in my junk cabinet and then all of the sudden, and it is usually not me, one unsuspecting person walks over, opens the door and BAM!!!!!! it all comes tumbling it. So what do I do? I
K is for KSL classifieds. I needed...yes needed, so I can procrastinate doing my homework until 1am because Kinko's is not open that late. I found a huge laminator on KSL for the price (actually cheaper) I would have paid for a small, personal size one at an office store.
L is for Lancome. I am in love with most things that make. I had a makeover the other day at the Lancome counter and entered a drawing....well I WON!!! I have won many things in the past, but really, (besides some of the concert tickets I have won) this is one of the coolest gifts I have won! I guess it could be due to the fact that I love makeup...shocker I know.
M is for Mount Vernon. This place is beautiful. When we took our trip to DC we decided to see the place where George Washington lived. The
N is for New York. Since my last post, which was in May, we have gone a few places. We took the kids to New York in the summer (among other cities) and we stayed at the DoubleTree on Time Square on the top floor! That was AWESOME!
O is for the orange berries in a vase in my window right now. I am sort of digging it. Besides the berries were ten cents each at Walmart. I think I bought 18 of them. You figure out them math, and yes I know the answer.
P is for Palmyra New York. What an awesome way to start out a trip. We headed to Palmyra for a day to do the church stuff...the Sacred Grove, Joseph Smith's house, the see the Palmyra Temple, the Book of Mormon Printing Press. All I can say is that we should have planned an extra day to spend here. Such a special place...not to mention how beautiful it is.
Q is for quitting. After working at the same school for the past five years, I finally had to quit. Brent and I knew this day would come that I had to choose school or work. Not that I can't handle it, but with my job, I have set hours that I have to be there. This next semester I will be doing 18 credit hours and it overlaps into the time I would have to be at work. I will also be student teaching a couple of weeks. So the time came that school has to win over. A few students know that after Christmas break I will not be returning. They said to me, "So we are not important? You are choosing school over us?" It sort of made me feel good to know that they will miss me :) I know I will certainly miss those that I have worked with. I have definitely learned a lot from those that I have come to know. They have helped me better prepare me for my course in life and the courses I am taking in school.
R is for Rhode Island. Another stop on our trip back east. We went to a naval museum and most importantly and one of the main reasons for the trip back east, was to go to Brent's great-aunts grave. We actually went to a few cemeteries and graves that day. The older cemeteries are quite interesting. It is interesting to see how far back some of the gravestones are dated.
S is for spell check. I am so glad I have that. Not that I am a bad speller, but it certainly helps to catch the errors my fingers make when typing.
T is for Train. No, not the kind of train my books like, although the 844 did come to Utah quite a few times this year. This Train is the band. They came to Salt Lake on my birthday this year...so guess what we did? I hinted and hinted that I really wanted to go to their concert...so we did!
U is for ugly. UGLY? Yes, my ugly deck was painted/stained a few weeks ago. Now it is a a dark brown/black color...they call it teak, I call it dark color.
V is for Vampire. Sorry, that is all I could think of. But yes I went to see the vampire/wolf movie the other night, otherwise known as Twilight Breaking Dawn 2. My significant other came with me. Not his choice, but he did go with me. I love that man!
W is for Washington D.C. We took a quick trip to DC over UEA. We wanted to see the things we did not get to see on our last trip here - mainly the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.
X is for Xu and Xi. They are terrific words to make when you are stuck with the "X" in a game of Scrabble. Especially if this falls on a double word point!
Y is for year. I am another year closer to graduating!
Z is for Zuma Blitz. Sorry, that is all that I could think of and when I need a break from homework, this is what I usually do.
