Happy New Year

This year holds starts with excitement!  It all starts next week....Garrett leaving for the MTC.  All I can hope is that as I look back from the time he received his call to now, well that time has flown by.  I hope it certainly feels that way while he is gone.  I am told it will, but I hope it truly does fly by.  I really am happy that he has this opportunity and chose to serve the Lord.  He has many great and wonderful talents and he will be an awesome missionary.  It still doesn't mean I won't cry and I won't miss him like crazy.
Anyway, this year, well actually I guess this starts before Garrett leaves, I start my last semester at school.  I won't really be at school, I will be student teaching...which is the final culmination of the past six years!  And that is going full time each semester!  You know, when you only take 12 credit hours (which is full time), you cannot complete college in four years.  Especially when some classes are only offered, that you are required to take, certain semesters.  But in four months I will graduate!
Hopefully I will find a job rather quickly so that I can spend my summer planning a classroom...another first! My very own classroom!  As to what grade I would like to take, which is always the question I get asked, starting out I will take whatever grade I can get a job teaching.  Ideally though, kindergarten to fourth.  In the past I would say third, but after student teaching in fourth, I could do fourth.
What else does this year hold?  Parker will be a senior in high school and Madi in her last year in junior high. That makes me feel old, and I don't feel like I am not old.
There we go, 2014 full of many changes.  Some bittersweet and some exciting!  With that, Happy New Year!
