No, we did not fall off the face of the earth. No, we did not catch FrontRunner and just keep riding. Kind of like the MTA song sung by the Kingston Trio. See, Charley puts ten cents in his pocket and catches the MTA. His wife kisses him goodbye, well....Charley does not have enough money to get home, so he is stuck on the train. Each day his wife would come to the train station and give him a sandwich as the train went rumbling through. People made signs and tried to get Charely off of the MTA. But, here is my question...If Charlies wife was able to give him a sandwich, why did she not give him the extra money to get off of the train. Same with the people that knew Charley was stuck on the train? So, my point to that really long winded story, no we were not stuck on the train, FrontRunner in our case.
FrontRunner opened on Saturday. Now really, should this be that big of deal? Yes, in my house it is. I have two boys that have been counting down the days until the grand opening this past Saturday. Seriously, it is an obsession. Did you know, that you can by HO (no that is not HO as in hoe, or HO as in HO-Ho-HO, said by one Santa Claus...it is HO as in the letters H and O but just put together, and no I do not know what they mean, just that it is a scale of train). But back to what I was saying, did you know that you can buy these in HO scale trains, FrontRunner that is? Honestly, my kids are planning on purchasing these. Good thing that have a paper route - for the money that is. I just don't see what they see in trains. I just don't get it. So when I say it was a magnificent weekend, for them it was. I had a blast at a bridal shower - which had lots of yummy food, by the way. It was a great girl thing to do! Had it not have been for the shower, I would have been dragged along to each and every train station for each grand opening. Now, you tell me, does train station hopping sound like fun? Unfortunately, I had to race back from the shower and immerse myself with a test, oh what fun (there is sarcasm throughout this blog, except the part where I really did have fun at the shower - no sarcasm there. Only the train parts - next to Nutrition, I love chasing trains!!!!!)
Okay, so here's the thing. The other day Brent and the boys were helping to move a family in our ward. Well, Madi and I went shopping and we were going to go pick up the boys at the storage unit where this family was putting their stuff. It was late, so that is why I was going to pick them up, so Brent could finish helping and I could get the kids to bed. Madi and I get out to the storage units and Brent says they are nearly done, so he will bring the boys home, so Madi and I turn around. We cross the train tracks, now normally when I have the boys with me as well, they are saying, "stop, can we watch the train?!!!!" or, "pull over, there is a train coming!"
"Have you never seen a train before in your life"..I wonder..to me, a train is a train, with some exceptions. But honestly, all the yellow U.P. trains, they look the same, with the exception of the numbers. Oh, but that is not so, not according to my boys...
Okay,. sorry about that rant...I am stepping off of my soap box.....Wow!!! It is high...
Okay, so back to my story, Madi and I crosses the train tracks and there was a train coming, you could see the light. Jokingly I said, "Madi, do you want me to pull over so you can see the train and tell your brothers?" to which she replies with out skipping a beat...
"No, I am NOT the boys!"
Okay...guess she made that clear, but really it was funny.
So, really, we have been busy, that is why the long delay in writing. I have been finishing up my classes - college, and that has kept me a little bit busy. But, three classes down and one left....yea me!!!!(lol - I guess I have watched to much Suite Life with my kids!) But I think we know which class is left....MY FAVORITE!!!! NUTRITION!!!! I love the class - really I do - I love to analyze how much I eat and calculate how much protein and fat I just put in my mouth when I ate that Big Mac, large french fries, Chicken and green chile salad from Bajio, enormous nachos from Rancheritos, the large grape Rainbow slush from Pace's, raspberry filled doughnuts from Krispy Kreme, Lime Ricky sherbet on a regular cone, package of girl scout mint cookies, Chips Ahoy cookies....well you get the picture, and this is all one meal!!!! just kidding, I can down more in one sitting what are you thinking.....I usually have a smorgasbord of food in front of me to drown out my sorrows of the day and numb my mind after dealing with fifth graders all day.....
Okay, So, Sunday, Brent went out of town, to Canada. I took Garrett, Parker, and Madi and their cousins, Talmage, Crezna, and (I know I am going to spell this name wrong) Kylie to the train station in Farmington and then we went to Castle Park. So with camera in hand, I pretended to be my dad, who is a professional photograper, and start shooting away. I am not so blessed with the photo skills like he is. I will just blame it on my camera...if I had a better camera, then I too could shoot better pictures..that is it.... so here we go, fun with cousin pictures....

Had to throw this picture in of the train, since it was going under us as we were leaving... besides, if I did not throw it in, my boys would be so disappointed in me. What sort of mother am I, not sharing my sons same enthusiasm for their love?

Such cute pictures! I think you DO have your dad's talent!
CUTE pics!! and glad they could ride the train -- we still need to.:)
As you can tell from my blog, I don't think you missed out too much by not riding the train! :) You are so funny though. I was laughing so hard through your whole HO thing. Good luck with finishing classes!
